Switching out my 850dp w/Edelbrock performer RPM for the Weiand B tunnel ram w/dual quad top.
I was thinking reading good stuff & thinking about the 450 Holley mechanical secondaries w/o secondary acc plumps but have also read bad stuff saying they are horrible to tune & over come the secondaries not having acc pumps & that basic 600 VS are better. My thought is the 600 VS doesn’t have a acc pump on the secondaries either & but slowly open & with the mechanical secondaries you could bring them on slowly.

The car is very responsive & I drive it on the street & to work often & doesn’t bog with the 850dp & has run a best of 12.6@110mph but I’ve only had it down the track 6 or 7 times, hope to get many more runs this summer. Hoping to get a little more out of it with the tunnel ram & I am going to run a 125hp nitrous set-up under the dual quads. Just looking to know what you guys have used with tunnel rams & what got the best results.

The car is a ‘67 Barracuda fastback, 3,090 lbs
68 383 B motor w/10:1 compression
Edelbrock E-Street(out of the box w/3 angle valve job)
75cc chambers
210cc intake runner volume
70cc exhaust runner volume
2.14" intake valves
1.88" exhaust valves

Cam - Comp XE274H
230/236 @ 0.50 duration
LS of 110*
Intake CL 106*
Crane ductile iron 1.6 rockers to achieve
.510 lift @ intake valve
.523 lift @ exhaust valve

1 7/8" Hooker fender well headers
727 w/stock style high stall converter
8 3/4" 4.10 sure grip

Two small Edelbrock carbs (buy the ones that are designed for dual quad use) will work great on a street car. If you hired me to set the car up I'd pick two of the 500 cfm carbs. They are easy to set up and it is easy to build the linkage and fuel lines for the Edelbrock carbs.

I truly believe tunnel rams are one the most misunderstood devices in this hobby. Never take advice from someone who has never had one e.t. well. Theyll recommend tiny carbs everytime. And it will suck.

I slapped 2 edelbrock avs carbs on my cuda before DW12. Like andy said, linkage is easy. I even made both carbs work with a manual choke. It was so nice starting it in cold weather. And I went 140 mph with them.

I am not going to run Edelbrock carbs, going to run a pair of Holleys or Quick Fuel, since QF are readily available with air bleed jets.

I ran 2 Holley 750 double pumper carbs on my 440 and now on my 505ci motor without any issues. The 750 went a tenth faster the the 650's

I would call both Holley and Quickfuel and ask them which carbs they make for tunnel rams that will help you the most scope

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
