So they are normally Tire/brake/bearing failure related fires IMO.
Wonder if there are currently heat sensitive driver warning devices available to help reduce these outcomes with expensive cargo?
Doesn't seem much of. a stretch with current technology.
Could have been worse.

Yes something like that, but I believe the RR solution is fixed, and monitors rail cars as they pass by.

Seems like it might also reduce road side mysterious brush fires.

Last week I stopped and put out a fire shoulder fire that apparently was started by trailer wheel fire I passed later parked on the shoulder farther down the road.
