A) When do you look at using the lighter weight 78g solid lifters versus the 100-101g lifters?
B) What size EDM hole do you like: .012", .015", .021", or the .024" for a street solid (140/365lbs)?

Thanks!

I have Howards lifters with. 021" hole but I don't know how much they weigh. I did lose about 5 psi of oil pressure at idle but I think its a good trade off putting oil where I need it at idle.

Thanks for the reply Gus. Your oil pressure reading is a good reference. up
I have only found one weight reference on the Howards EDM lifters (.021”), and it shows someone weighing them in at 100/101g each.

Does anyone have an opinion on the other EDM hole sizes for a street engine?

Does anyone have an opinion on when the lighter lifters are used? I may have read that the lighter units are for engines running 6500rpms plus.

Thanks

You don't usually need EDM oiling on any Mopar lifters for the early BB or 426 Hemi V8s do to the excessive lifter to lifter bore clearances scope
EDM oiling was invented for BB Chevy that have oiling issues to the cam and lifter bottoms, not for Mopars.
I've prime many Mopar engines before putting the valley pan or intakes on, they gush oil out between the lifters and lifter bores flooding out of the lifter bores tops and bottoms scope wrench
Save your money for better lifters like tool steel or pressure fed solid roller lifters, don't waste it on EDM oiling twocents

I have Comp EDM solid flat tappet lifters in mine. I actually got them from Dwayne Porter with my custom grind cam. I don't know what size the hole is in my Comp EDM lifters and they did not tell me the weight other then its the standard weight. They have been in my engine for 9 years now driving on the street and racing it some. Still running great and holds good oil pressure. Up to 80 lbs cold and about 30 to 40 lbs at idle hot in gear.
