253430 6. 9/25/68. E440 1 stamped in the middle. 9 30 under it. Just curious. Numbers off pan rail CH41K9F131974.

253430 6. 9/30/68. E440 1 stamped in the middle. 9 30 under it. Just curious. I bet the casting date is 8/30 rather than 9/30. It wouldn't be possible to cast the block and assemble the engine on the same date. So it was probably cast 8/30/68 and then the engine was assembled on 9/30/68 and placed in a 1969 model year car.

Cast in 1968, used in a 1969 vehicle. If there is a VIN on the oil pan rail then that will provide some more clues. What's this ! Numbers off pan rail CH41K9F131974, 69 New Yorker .
