Are there gaskets used between the spoiler and trunk lid? If so who sells them?

Good question, what did the factory use to seal the holes in the trunk lid, where the mounting studs come through?

Judging by how my original AAR trunklid rusted I would say there was no gasket or sealer!

I have had a different problem with mine.I used laquer organisol paint on my spoiler and after a while the paint bubbled where the spoiler comes in contact with the paint. I think something leached out of the laquer paint in the hot sunshine and caused the problem. I have not seen any type of gaskets for sale and I assume they never used them. I will probably silicone the holes to keep water out.

I went to the hardware store and bought some big flat rubber washers. Helps to seal the hole plus holds the spoiler up off the decklid just a hair.

Do you have any photos of the mounts on the spoiler and the location of the holes in the trunk lid?
I bought the mount kit and have not figured exactly how this attaches.
Happy Easter
Thanks

Silicone only promotes rust by traping/assorbing water after some time, if you must use a sealer use seam sealer or a ureathane based sealer, or butuly rubber based gasketing mat'l

I cut a few pieces of gasket paper and and put them on the four studs and also three pieces where the spoiler touches the trunk lid. I also did not use the four screws that go up through the trunk lid on the ends as there is a gap between the spoiler and lid and I did not want to crack the spoiler.
