Hi guys I got the mopar Performance kit
As you know there’s no holes in the pocket
My question ive seen guys line the hole with The original spring perches I see other kits with three holes in each pocket How often are you actually Using the other holes ????
Question number two
Have any you guys move the hole back To gain space in front of back tire ????
Thank you for your input mopar or no car
I always put the hole as high in the box as possible to help get the car a low as possible in the rear. I have also fudged the hole back a bit to gain clearance on some cars...

I've made my own for many years. I use a material a little heavier than the kits. Usually I will customize it for the application. As many holes as desired, 4 or even 5 for ride height adjustment/tuning. Move the holes forward, This will help weight distribution, also if going to a big tire moving the housing forward allows you to modify just the front of the wheel opening and leave the back original. Or leave the housing in the stock location. I have never moved a housing back.

When I did the ones on my son 68 Dart I cut the inside frame section out and left the outside and top section whole. I then drilled 6-10 1/2 holes in the original steel frame. I then tack welded the new box in and after everything was squared up I plug welded the new box to the outer frame section and welded all along the premier. After I welded it up the box I then made gussets in front to tie it in solid to the front of the frame where the frame connectors meet up. Then I drilled the hole to match the old location. But we had cut the front of his wheelwells out and extended them 2 inches forward. We drilled a 1 inch hole in the rear shackle area of the frame inside of the OEM rear mounts and press fit some thin wall DOM tubing to the press fit outer and the shackle bolt's rubber bushing size. We still had the rubber shackle bushings in the spring eye. We used some old school 'Cal-Custom' long lift 'Chrome' shackles but re-drilled the 3 hole side to a 4th hole at OEM size and cut off the extra 3 holes then used the bolts from the kit.... I think we added 2 flat stainless washers to the outside spring eyes and 2 to the top frame bolts to help with the slight miss-match top to bottom. I don't have pictures of this and the car is 30 miles away. And I am sipping some 'Makers Mark' getting ready for tomorrow. (Thanksgiving Day 2019). Stinking outside the box

We did not have to do that. I am sure that there may be a slight miss alignment but I think we centered the spring under the frame and then drilled the holes for the steel tubes. We may also have added a slight angle to the front holes in the new box to angle the bolt to the slight offset of 3/8 inch inside mounting. I relooked at our photos and we used stock rear shackles and not the cut down Cal- Custom ones. My sons 8 3/4 rear axle now has two sets of spring perches welded on so we can always pull that axle out and reuse it somewhere else. He is running Foose mags in 18's front and 20's in the rear and has a 325/60 20 wheel under his 68 Dart with about 1/4 inch spacing to the outside fender. He is working on cutting down a Dodge Van 8 3/4 housing to like 50-51 inches

Yup !! That is some nice work. Won't be able to put Cal Tracs on there though. I had done basically the same thing then had to cut some clearance in the bottom for the front pivot bracket.

Yup !! That is some nice work. Won't be able to put Cal Tracs on there though. I had done basically the same thing then had to cut some clearance in the bottom for the front pivot bracket. I have Caltracs. I test fitted the front mount the other day and it looks like a little trimming is in order - Particularly if I use the top hole. No big deal.
