I'm contemplating installing a single Holley Sniper PART# 550-511K (max 650hp) 4 barrel Throttle Body Kit and the Holley Dual Sync Distributor on a bone stock 2010 Mopar Performance World Block 426 Crate Engine. The car was built for the street and not the track.
Any suggestions from anyone with previous experience setting up a throttle body EFI on one of these engines and as to whether this is a good combo for that engine or not would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You in advance.

Thank You in advance. It should work okay. You might need to add a one inch open spacer to help with distribution and/or you might change to a single plane intake down the road but that is a tuning question. You'll be able to watch the plugs over time to see how the fuel distribution is working. You should use a Hyperspark distributor not the dual sync. You don't need a dual sync for the Sniper and it requires an extra adapter. The Hyperspark should be plug and play. The Sniper is sensitive to RF noise so you must be very careful with your wiring. You also have to use resistor spark plugs and resistor wires. Keep all of the ignition wires away from any Sniper wires. The Sniper needs 12 volts while cranking and running so you have to reconfigure the stock Mopar ignition wiring. Get rid of the ballast resistor and join the wires together so you have 12 volts cranking and running. There are various ways to do this. I just join the wires together but some people use a relay or even a time delay relay. Just depends what else you have hanging on those circuits.

Have you seen the Roadkill episode where they put EFI on a crate Hemi and started cross country? Plenty of problems, trouble getting tech help, only got 7mpg until they tuned and tuned with a lap top, and then they came out one morning and it had cleared all the tuning they had done, etc, etc. Retrofit EFI is not a God send. When it works it is good, but not much if any better than a well tuned carb despite being much more expensive. But when it doesn't work, it can be worse than driving a phord. If you feel you must experiment with one of these kits, then the recommendation to go with Rich Nedbal is the only way to go. You will need tech advise and he has it in spades.

It will work but would likely work better with an equal length individual runner intake. Fuel distribution in a dual plane intake manifold can not be adjusted individually with a throttle body style injection unit like you can by staggering jets in a carburetor. .02 Scott If I was to swap out the dual plane (P4876188) with a Barton (P5153781) should I expect any clearance issues with my shaker? Thx

The Barton intakes are TALL. I made a 4500 Indy dual plane work under my Shaker, but it took a lot of work both over the carb and under the carb. The Indy single plane would have taken work too. I bought both to see how they would dyno. On my carbureted 540, the dual plane won just as Indy said it would. Given my experience with wedges, I didn't believe them and had to see for myself. They were right.
The Barton was a non-starter on my car. Way, way too tall.

The EFI set ups are so nice and for the most part plug and play.. With the hand held monitoring device you can adjust on the fly and it tunes itself.. I love the Holley EFI set up.
