I put a 1" spacer under the carb and need to extend my kickdown lever. Don't want to cut it. Maybe weld a nut to a bolt head and put the nut on the end of the thread on the rod? Is it fine thread 5/16 or 3/8"?

Not shown is an additional spring down on the trans that was needed. Cheap, simple, works on my OD trans....

IIRC, it's 5/16" fine thread. I couldn't find any all thread in that size/pitch, so I had to cut a bolt, then cut the KD, and bolt the new piece in the middle. Doesn't look that great, but it works for me.

I can get a picture if you want one.

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I just cut and weld in whatever's needed.

sorry

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

Mancini Racing has taller throttle brackets with kickdown pivots. They are designed to work with the Performer RPM intakes but they'll fit anything that is the same basic height as that.

I extended my vertical linkage by welding in a section of bolt. I also had to do the same to the horizontal linkage, and I took the pic below to show the before and after.......but in your case it shows you what I had on it beforehand - an extension I'd had made up years ago, with a lock nut to keep the length once set (top left).
You could do this to achieve what you want.
(I prefer the welded in bit!)

I'm adding to the long bent 2bbl one piece rod so I like the top one. Easy to put two barrel setup back when I sell the car. Guess I'll fire up the lathe.
