Good point, I forgot they have to run with air cleaners in place.

But that thing is still getting with the program. Amazing 60 foots.

(Trans man) you are correct the hood should not be on the car and believe it or not it has no advantage at all for this car except looks. Flat hood will be back on in the spring.

Dwayne the sixty foot on this pass was 1.54 which is it's best on the small tire. At the Yellow Bullet this year on slicks the car went 10.12@136 with 1.49 sixty

Since you are certainly in the know on this class - do the cars go through weigh-in as part of tech? How about weight distribution check ? Just wondering as I have been thinking of running something and when I read the rules I don’t be see any mention of weight.

Thanks. And congrats on that performance.

Can I be nosy and ask how much ballast and where/how it's located?

Congrats on the new best in that sweet 63 Ed. That's a good 60 ft on them tires. I thought cars that came on 14" tires could upgrade to 15" tires in FAST but it sounds like I was wrong ? A 1.54 60 is amazing on them tires as you seem to really do your homework and its paid off. Congrats again on an awesome job. up Ron

All I can guess is that Chrysler must have given some pretty vague documentation that is being interpreted in a way favorable to Mopar brands.

This is all fine with me as the other manufactures have done the same thing.

KInd of a mixed blessing, I have been told the exhaust systems weigh about two hundred pounds and I know from personal experience they throw off a lot off heat under the hood.

Wow that car is flying! And it's doing it at a higher weight than I would have guessed! Ed, is there anything about that combo you would share with us? Specifically, what has been done with that intake manifold and carbs? Everyone says that intake will cost 100hp over a good 4 barrel intake. Also, curious to which rear end you are running?

Amazing car! Do they typically run factory carbs (i.e. AVS, AFB, Holley 4160 etc) or can you cheat and use an Edelbrock or holley hp place of the OEM carb?

Very impressive considering everything they have to work with! I can't imagine the R&D that goes into making one of these FAST cars work like this.

Not to take anything from Ed as his car is one of my favorites. Tom Hoover and his son built a 1964 Plymouth to run in pure stock. It also is a max wedge and runs on the same tires. With unported heads no stoker and a flat tapper 520 lift cam runs mid 11’s at 120 mph Got to love a max wedge.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

Congrats Ed! In the past some people tried to treat the tires with chemicals, but at this point I don’t think that it is done and certainly not wide spread. The tires are very worn if not bald.

I can verify that. Soaking these tires is a waste of time. And money. The rubber on reproduction bias plys is already soft, and treating them makes the rubber so soft that it will almost fall off when doing a burn out. Totally worthless.

July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.

Everything but the block is supposed to be factory OEM parts with correct part numbers. You can do what ever possible to make your parts better as long as they keep there stock appearance.

I do not treat the tires. I shave them down to the wear bars and start burning em up from there. A good set of tires are priceless!

So you are saying it’s an aftermarket block with stock pistons, cranks, rods, cams, intake manifolds, carbs, etc etc, but they can use a tire and compound that is modified. If so that’s super fast for that combo. Even for Fall type weather at an east coast track. Congratulations
