The car spun badly the first 2 time runs, my first elimination run it went a 1.45 60', 6.61 at 103 in the 1/8th, i had the mustang beat badly so i let off and go on the brakes hard and went through at 10.49 @ 114. Hopefully in some really good air it will get into the high 20's. My best 60' with the 4.88's was 1.44, the car go's through at about 6500 now.
Your 60's will drop more with better hook. I was hoping to see more MPH but you did hit the brakes, still your only .01 off your best 60 with the 4.88's...not bad for first time out. ..Phill

It went through at 128 my fist time run, but it spun almost sideways off the line, my 60' was1.52 and it only ran a 10.54 that run. I think it will be over 130 mph with a good full pass

You might enen want to try a higher gear still, some 3.91's...you might be suprised at the out come. ...Phill
Yea, with these iron heads i know i need to keep the motor around the 5600-5900 range as long as possible. I wish gears didn't cost so much money, i'd try a set.

If he was nosing over through the gears from too high of rpm wouldnt the 4.30's be better shifting lower rpm..... what rpm did you shift at with the 4.30's ?

That is a good gain. What was the sixty foot comparison? Was the weather similar on both runs?

yes, the weather was close on both of those runs. Best 60' with the 4.88 gears was a 1.46, and best with the 4.30's was a 1.42. I am running a crane cam with 700 lift. Shifting the car at 6000 now and it goes through the traps around 6500.
