I haven't figured out the fluid capacity question for NAG1 behind 2010 Police 5.7.

The latest thing I saw was a chart that indicates fluid level reading depends on trans fluid temperature. I don't have a dipstick, so I've just pulled into dealership periodically, and they check for free. Now that I see the temp chart, I'm not recalling them ever checking the trans fluid temp. They just plunge the dipstick in, and check level the old fashioned way. I want to have my old school mechanic pull the pan, change the filter, and refill, but I don't know if he can. I guess I'd have to buy a dipstick at the very least? And then just refill to "cold capacity"?

Any guidance?

P.S. Once years ago, driving a 2010 Police Charger 5.7, they had the trans serviced, and the first time I went wide open throttle afterwards, I noticed smoke from the engine compartment. I shut the engine down immediately and coasted off the road. It was from trans fluid spewing out of the trans vent under hood and burning off. What a mess!!! I assume they had overfilled the trans after servicing. I don't want that on this car!

Someone on E-bodies.org is having an NAG1 problem. He installed it in a Challenger and it isn't shifting properly under heavy throttle. I asked him about his fluid level because I've read they are very sensitive to it. He said a scan-tool is used to get an accurate reading of the trans temp. Then there is a temp chart to go by to get the level correct. So, it sounds like the most accurate way to see the actual trans fluid temp is to hook it up to a scan-tool.

If you google around the LX forums you can find the specs to make your own dipstick out of a 36" zip tie. That's what I use on my 300C. They will also have the temp chart. I marked full at cold, mid range and hot temps on a zip tie and as long as it's over the cold line after I've ran it for a few minutes and checked it, it's good.

Trans temp, at least on an 05 300C can be accessed through the EVIC display on the dash. You have to hold 2 buttons on the steering wheel down for about 5 seconds and it pops up with a bunch of other hidden info or you can plug a bluetooth dongle into the OBD port and use a phone app called Torque to read it and any other sensor info you'd like.

Thanks for those answers. Very helpful. No EVIC though on 2010 Police Package.
