Need to drop trans on my 70... drivers side top bolt...?? Is there a trick...its a PITA. or for me near impossible to get to....

Remove rear cross member & lower the assembly with an appropriate jack.

At that point, some long extensions used together may be your new friends.

Thanks!! Also had to drop right side exhaust to get crossmember out... but think I will be good for tomorrow.. beer time.. it is NATIONAL beer drinking day.

99.9% sure the clutch is in backwards.... doh...

I use a regular short 3/8 drive 12 point 9/16 socket with a universal adapter on a long 3/8 extension to come in from the top of the tranny above the side cover and loosen and remove it first, same thing on the other side top bolt and then raise the tranny up off the tranny mount and remove the cross member and lower the tranny a little to get easier access to the two bottom bolts sand remove them wrench scope
