I would like to add a led footwell lighting kit. What would be the correct way to wire/tie this in so it operates the same as the dome light? I think the wiring is a little goofy like the door switch controls the ground not the hot, but I am not entirely sure. Current draw is a 1/3 of an amp so I am not too concerned with overloading a circuit. This would be for a '70 Challenger if it matters. https://www.oraclelights.com/collec...oracle-ambient-led-lighting-footwell-kit

The dome light circuit connector is accessible from the trunk, above the left rear inner fender. (at least that's where it is on my 74). I will think about that... good idea that's where the trunk light gets power from too.

Thanks for the help! Does it matter which door switch? does it need to be both? it needs to be both. if you only connect to one, say the driver's door, they will only light when you open the driver's door. Aren't the door switches tied in parallel along with the dome light switch on the instrument lamps ??? that could be a possible "it depends" situation. i have fixed too many wiring issues over the years, i just can't remember. even so, i "think" hooking into the door switches would still make the footwell lights work with the dome light switch on the dash. [maybe]
