692 is an 11" hi-stall 727 converter used with '78-later 360 LA. It has a single 120 gram triangular weight.

With the weight removed it's no longer a 692, it's more akin to the earlier 762. The main difference is the absence of a drain plug which was eliminated in '77.

i've often considered installing drain plugs in a few converters over the years. is it practical, or will it unbalance the converter ? if it is something that can be done, how would a guy determine the correct placement of the drain, and what would the length of the drill be limited to so to protect against damaging the internals ?
