Just curious if the 4bbl AC cars, had an idle solenoid on the carb that was used ONLY when the AC was engaged . . . i.e. solenoid energized to raise idle speed only when AC compressor came on . . . . also, would that solenoid be same as solenoid that was used as idle stop/cut off ???

1971 and I'm assuming 1970 383 cars with A/C did not use an idle solenoid. They ran the 4160 series Holly carb

Just want to add the solenoid to my carb, so that at idle, with AC on, then there is enough juice put out by the alternator to be in "charge" position, rather than discharge . . .
