I have seen several photos from over the weekend that show empty seats, 50% at best.

I’ve been going almost 30yrs now.

Monday’s are never and have never been busy. No different.

Yesterday the rain held a lot back. Saturday was packed, Friday was packed. 2 years ago the place was busiest I think I ever saw. If it wasn’t for the forecast this year I bet it’d be close. The camping next to track was jam packed.

Attendance is hard to judge. Easily 50% bolt after the fuel cars go, and a lot people just hang out by the pits.

Why do you insist on bitching about NHRA attendance here?

I can't remember when they added to the stands on the west side, but that did increase seating volume by quite a bit.
I always went on Fridays and it was usually packed by early afternoon. I was wanting to go this past Thursday, but couldn't get off work.

Last time I went to Indy was 1979. I was on my way to college and I stopped at the track for the races. I remember standing in the pits watching Bob Glidden and his wife thrash on the car.

That was the last year I raced at Indy.

When you have a 70" flat screen on the wall and a home theater sound system why bother putting up with the traffic?

I used to go to Indy religiously, haven't been for 15 years at least.

Indy's seating capacity is huge. Half full there is probably twice the seating capacity of many tracks.

However to gauge the size of the crowd you need to look during the fuel racing, people bail to the pits when they are not on the track.

During what I consider the best racing of all, Stock and Super Stock class racing the stands are almost empty, of course it can be at 8:00 in the morning which does not help.

Why have sex when you can watch it on your phone, computer, or the tv,,right?

The whole world is lost in their own bubble. The phone, and the computer serves for reality these days. Catch myself falling into it too, and head to the track when I do.

I stopped going years ago when I lost interest in Pro Stock. I have All Access but I haven’t had it on for the last three races and record it on tv. I may not even get All Access next year
