Motor mount shims may solve ur header clearance issues... Schumacher used to sell a kit but their website says out of stock. But they are EZ to make.. Just my $0.02...

You may try loosening the motor mounts and the steering box to see if they will move enough to give you the clearance you need.

I made some changes after I coated my B1 headers and had an issue with starter clearance. I found the proper radius that I needed on a piece of scrap on my scrap pile and used my Harbor Freight press to make some clearance. Sure beat doing it with a hammer.
