I am replacing my metal windage tray and double gaskets with a molded gasket windage tray and my pickup tube hits the new tray. Rather than cutting a big piece of the tray out, I would like to find a straighter, stock-type pickup tube that reaches to the bottom of my pan which is 7 inches. I have checked all the usual places and don't have much confidence in anything I am seeing. Can anyone point me towards one?

Those molded windage trays need a little surgery to open up the drain holes. What they come with is too small, run a file or dremel thru them to open them up some.

I did cut some slots in it. Although my old MP tray didn't have any holes and I don't recall anyone complaining about those.

Depending on what your working with it might be easier to just start with a new straight piece if tube, and weld the pickup screen part onto it.
On my 400 to 500" stroker with BCR caps and girdle, I ended up making a pickup like mentioned above.
I forgot what tube diameter and wall thickness I used? I think it may have just been 3/4" 0.065" or 0.083" wall DOM, which catches the threads further down the hole because the tube is a bit undersized.
Really, a 7/8" wall tube would have been better, but the threaded end would need machined down a bit for the 1/2" NPT die.

If stock 3/8" NPT, a 5/8" tube should work.

FWIW, I calculated the inside area difference between a 5/8" 0.065" wall tube and a 3/4" 0.065" wall tube to see what change in area is when converting from 3/8" to 1/2" pickups.
The 3/8 NPT, 5/8" OD tube, has 0.495" id, and a cross section area of 0.192442185
The 1/2 NPT, 3/4" OD tube, has 0.620" id, and a cross section area of 0.301907054
That is a 36.2578 % difference in cross section area. Not sure how the extra area of the larger pickup tube would affect oil pump performance?

The early (1965 to 1970) C body BB oil pick up may work if your willing to bend it forward to get the pick up screen nearer the bottom of the oil pan.
I may have one in a stock Pioneer box with a part number on it, I'll check in the shop in the morning and post it on here if I do. Have you look at the Moroso and Milidon 3/8 pickups for their 7 inch deep center sump oil pans yet? If not maybe you should scope twocents
I use to have one of each but not anymore after twisting one of them off trying to get one more full turn into the block boss to make the pick up fit the pan better whiney

Thanks for all the suggestions. 440Source has a pickup for strokers that looks like it will have more clearance for a deeper windage tray. I will give that a try before cutting and welding.
