Can anyone tell me if this can be repaired? A small piece of the block chipped off from what looks to be an old broke bolt. Any advice would be great thanks

No problem, weld it up, drill and tap the hole, done. BTDT.

Traditonal methods can be used, preheat and nickel rod/tig or stick....
... but I'll tell you Crown Alloys Royal 44-30 works surprisingly well with just a MIG.

I have also heard good reports of Crown's high nickel rod, but personally haven't the gear to test it.

Lacking desire or equipment to weld in the field, it would be an ugly looking repair but the hole could be tapped deeper and a long stud with sealer
installed, and I'm pretty sure it would hold. I'd only do that in an emergency and would prefer to weld it, though.

If you aren't comfortable doing it and are okay sending it out, MPD welding in auburn hills can easily handle it. Shipping would be pretty high, though.

Had one just like that on a Hemi, used a stick welder with nickel rod to build it up than re-drilled and tapped. Did it in the car.

I personally would braze it and then put some sort of an insert in it.

I’d do the pre-heat/nickel rod/stick welder routine myself
