Traditonal methods can be used, preheat and nickel rod/tig or stick....
... but I'll tell you Crown Alloys Royal 44-30 works surprisingly well with just a MIG.
I have also heard good reports of Crown's high nickel rod, but personally haven't the gear to test it.
http://www.crownalloys.com/products.phpLacking desire or equipment to weld in the field, it would be an ugly looking repair but the hole could be tapped deeper and a long stud with sealer
installed, and I'm pretty sure it would hold. I'd only do that in an emergency and would prefer to weld it, though.
If you aren't comfortable doing it and are okay sending it out, MPD welding in auburn hills can easily handle it. Shipping would be pretty high, though.
