I've got a pair of exhaust tips that I took in today to get rechromed. The price is right, but the shop told me I would have to get the carbon built up in the tips boiled out before they can chrome it. They recommended me to a radiator shop to get it dipped over there. But me in my frugality can't help but wonder if this can be done at home. Any info is much appreciated fellas.

Brakeclean works well for dissolving carbon.

Carol: "Wow! He's really fast, isn't he?!" John: "Yeah... but he's stupid."
