I found a tech archive that only covers up to 1972 A bodies rear end width's and axle lengths.
http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/axle/16.html

However, I am wanting to know the oem length of a mopar rear end in a '75 A body.
Reason being is my car has a ford 9" stuck under it that has some issues that has some work needing to be done.
While it's out wanting to consider shortening it to correct length and relocate perches after shortening.

Spec's appreciated.
Thx in Adv. beer

sure it isn't a Mopar 8-3/4? They look very similar to a Ford 9".... same style rearend, welded rear cover, diff comes out the front of the housing.

spring perch is 43" centers

IIRC, brakes will determine actual width of A-body

stock 1 3/4 wide rear brakes axles has smaller brake offset than later A-body with larger brake offset.

large brakes will make the A-body 8 3/4 1/2" wider = 1/4" each side.

I used a set of moser large brake A-body axles with a set of 5on 4.5 wbp 11x2.5 brakes in my 68 Dart.

75 A-body has a open wheel well and a B-body 8 3/4 will work in a pinch with correct wheel backset to center tire/wheel in tub.

FYI one of those axle charts is wrong info.

I have the correct 1 3/4 brake offset axle measurement and the large brake offset axle measurement in my notes I will check.

A-body use a 29' axle so a B-body with 30" axle is best swap IIRC

94 jeep xj 8 1/4 is a close fit for a-body or the ferd exploder 8.8
