Just rebuilt front suspension on my son's 74 Duster. All new control arm bushings, strut rod bushings and ball joints. The problem is spindles are tight I can barely move them. If I jack lower control arm and back off torsion bar they are better. I didn't remove bars completely from car just slid back and slid back in .I compared upper ball joints to old they measure the same. Any ideas?

I'm thinking I would loosen all the appropriate nuts then set the ride height via the Tbars till the front wheels look right in the wheel wells to you then retorque everything. First I like to set my weight in barbells in the dr seat & a half tank of gas but that is just my OCD talkin.

Everything is loose except upper control arms. As soon as put weight on suspension spindles move very hard like something is binding.

Are the eccentric camber adjustment bolts installed properly inside the fender wells? The upper control arm should be able to move up and down when those bolts are set tight.

Good question.

Also, is it both sides? What is your definition of tight?

You can disconnect some parts to isolate. Tie rod, lower ball joint to spindle, maybe upper ball joint is bad.

Greased ball joints upper control arms move. I will try unhooking upper BJ first. I just wasn't sure if I messed up installing torsion bars. It get worse when I adjust T-bars.
