Pretty sure the way the ignition wires were cut through that this furry little guy bit through two ignition wires, the upstream O2 sensor and what I'm trying to figure out what else. This is my wife's '01 Town and Country Limited with the 3.8 V6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The O2 sensor connection is behind this connection on the driver's side "frame rail" topside, and it has four wires, two White, a Black single and Gray single wire. Also there is another item that if I were guessing I would think it looks like a speedometer pickup sensor but not sure, it was just hanging there near the O2 sensor connection. I disconnected the O2 sensor not the groundhog, it just chewed through the wires of the sensor and whatever the four wires were connected to?
Thanks in advance.
Mike

I could be wrong, but I dont think an 01 has a speedometer sensor ( they get vehicle speed via the trans output sensor ) I do think they have both upstream and downstream 02 sensors though Thanks Bill, I crawled under and farther back and checked the downstream O2 sensor (matching wires, two white a black and a gray) and it got that one too I think I can save the downstream O2 with some wire and solder and some shrink tube but the upstream is pretty much gone. I had to cut the wires on the upstream O2 to get a better angle of attack to get it removed.....still need an O2 sensor socket and a good deep reach 1/2" drive impact 22mm to get it out. Working on that tomorrow. Still need to figure out the gray item......do you think it might be a cam sensor?? Thanks guys. Mike

Cam sensor is on top towards the front of engine ( pass side of chassis ) I'm tryng to remember what wiring is under there .
I have an 05, I will crawl under it this afternoon and take a look , 'MIGHT' be same wiring ( been a while since I worked for the dealership ,,,and memory isn't what it used to be )
PS, if its starts right up and runs, cam sensor is plugged in .

be careful using an impact on the O2 sensor. i have seen plenty of holes ripped in cats and pipes that are a "bit" rusty. i would apply heat to the bung and use a regular wrench or socket for that. i don't think you want to have to buy a cat on top of the already PIA damage that furry rat caused. Agreed, do NOT use an impact on a O2 sensor. For the life of me cant picture a white connector . Especially one thats a 2 wire

Several years ago a groundhog ate my crankshaft sensor wire right off at the sensor. For some reason they also must like undercoating too because they clawed a lot of it off of the frame of my Chevy suburban. My cousin changed out my sensor and 6 months later he had a mustache in his shop and called me over. Same claw marks and wires eaten. The guy didn’t know what did it so my cousin asked if he ever saw groundhogs around it. His answer was yes. I live in the country and I think I’ve shot 13-15 of them in my yard since this happened.

Especially one thats a 2 wire Thanks for the heads up on the "don't use an impact" guys as I would have probably tried that on the upstream if I could have gotten an impact to that area. I used a box end wrench and fed the cut wires through the box end on the downstream cat O2 sensor to remove it successfully. Thought about replacing and soldering new wires on the downstream O2 but I don't remember when I changed it last time or if it ever was replaced so a new one will cost me but that saves me a little time. The T&C is still in great shape and running condition and was max loaded with everything but AWD so we intend to keep it. Great travel vehicle and towing dirt and vintage bikes to events and ride times. Going to check for codes to see if I can figure out the two wire connector?????? Mike
