They'll work, with adapters. Don't go anymore than 6.75" wide wheels. 7.5" stick out too far.

From experience, this is a modification I wouldn't repeat. 2ยข

Not to mention the cost of 19.5 tires, unless you already have good ones on rims.

My son runs them. He gets his tires cheaper than pickup tires. He works at a Kenworth dealer though and I think he buys takeoffs or something.

I ran them on my '99 3500 4x4 with no problems at all. Found GM p-van wheels with the right bolt circle and had the centers opened up to match the Dodge hubs, no adapters needed. 19.5 rubber was cheap: find a tire dealer that services bus companies, they'll be able to get you steer tires recapped to whatever tread pattern you want (bus steer tires are THE ONLY place it's illegal to run a recap). With 4.10 gears and the Cummins, I picked up about 2 mpg with the 19.5's. Due to the stiff sidewall, I was running the rears with just enough air to keep the beads seated unless I was hauling a load. The look is MUCH better as it fills up that HUGE front wheel opening.
