mgoblue9798 OP super stock M Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 1,061 Atlanta, GA	Bought a set of new old stock 340 forged arias pistons. Paper says .003 piston clearance spec. Does this mean .a.006 bigger bore than the piston size? This seems a little tight. IIRC the old trw forged pistons used to call for about .006 clearance if I remember correctly.

The bore size is nominal, the piston size is the clearance. Measure the skirt and that will tell you how much clearance you need. Add .0005-.0010 if you think you are going to abuse the engine.
