Valvoline VR1 Racing 20w50 is what I always run. Zinc level is around 1200ppm when I test it. Just bought 2 cases on sale from Napa for $4.80 a Qt.
The only Carbs I care about are under the hood!

On your deal, especially if you drive it when the outside air temps are below 50F, I would use either 5W20WT, 5W30Wt or 10W30 WT. As far as which brand I like and use Valvoline oil based non synthetics oils, maybe VR1 with higher valve spring pressure for solid roller cams

The "20" part takes longer to reach the farthest bearing. Drop to 5W or 10W-50. My recent experience: factory calls for 10W30 (Toyota factory turbo engine), gets used in cools temps and 250 hp over the original engine, last change used 5W40. Feels the same, except... the hot idle speed is down slightly - takes extra power to churn through that 40.

especially if you drive it when the outside air temps are below 50F Ok, not all of Canada is above the Arctic circle - in fact, a large portion of the Canadian population lives further south than you Cab !!

The last time I look at a good globe the only part of Canada that is further south than central Oregon is near Detroit Is that one of the densest population centers in Canada Isn't Toronto and Quebec further north than Bend, OR?

I heard good things about VR1 I had read about 10-50 vs 0-50 The 10-50 weight maybe better due to the modifiers. https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/motor-oil-103/

This is very good oil. It has a high PSI lubrication ability. Check out over 200 oils ranked by PSI --by 540 RAT GUY. He has a blog to ask questions and has ranking of all the popular oils put to his test. Amzoil 5w-30 Signature series is his highest ever ranking oil ever..But M-1 0w-40 Full Synthetic is right behind it. He runs 800 HP motors and his oil of choice is QS 5w-30 FS because it holds it values at higher temps. Anyway, good read and take it for what you get out of it. That guy is a joke. His testing is a joke. His results are a joke.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I am currently using Brad Penn 20-50 It is difficult to find and expensive. I have used Brad Penn (now Penn Grade 1) for many years. The 20W-50 is in my street/strip car since the oil gets hot driving on the street. I have been using 10W-30 in my drag race cars for years. A local supplier sells a case of 12 for $75. IMO, Mobil VR-1 is just fine.

The Mobil One 15w50 synthetic I used to use got hard to find for a while, so I went w/ the VR1.

since Brad Penn has become harder to get around here I have changed to Valvoline VR-1 and get it at Rural King for 4.99 a quart.
