I just bought a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited and it needs a radio. It originally came with a now missing media center 730n RhR fast nav. with u connect and all the rest, Sirius, blue tooth, hands free, back up camera ,park assist qand steering wheel controls.. What I need to know is if there is any difference in the 730n RHR radios other than the way they mount. I can find all kinds of the RHR but none for the Jeep part number. Thanks

2011 is still the old style touch screen and not the current 8.4” screen correct? If so, all you need to know is that there are two different interior bus speeds. If it’s the right bus speed it’ll work regardless of part number. I add touch screen radios all the time. I know ram trucks and minivans are one bus speed and that the 300/charger/challenger are the other. The rest I have to sit down and look up as needed. Some need the dealer to generate a 4 digit pin to unlock it after a radio swap. Some don’t. Personally I think the nav is over rated and I’d go with a non-nav touch screen to replace it. I get the ram/minivan touch screens for $125-150 each and the car ones tend to be a little more scarce.

I found the correct superseded part numbered radio but now I need the amplifier plug with about a foot of wire still attached. Who ever snatched the radio cut the amp plug off. I take it that the bundle of amp wires go straight to the radio with the correct plug without any other gadget to plug into. Do you have any idea where to get that? Dumb question but does the amplifier have to be hooked up for the radio to work? I am absolutely lost when it comes to this new stuff. Thanks for the info you gave me.

Hell I think I have those plugs in my toolbox off a junkyard unit. They won’t have a foot or more of wire but should be usable. Send me a PM with a phone number (text messages preferred) and I’ll look tomorrow when I get back to work.

Funny thing is, I bet I only browse the tech section here maybe once a year when I’m super bored. I was in a hospital waiting room for my sons hernia surgery (routine procedure, went perfectly btw) or I’d never even have seen the thread lol.
