69 Dart, we figure weighs 2950 or so, with a basic mini tub with DR315's out back, skinnys up front, 440/512 with iron heads, 3.90 gears with a spool, untouched 950 4150 carb with Indy intake. 10.7:1 and .560 mechanical roller with like no duration shifting at 6K......Car has race buckets, but a full back seat and a roll bar. Suspension is SS leaf and pinion snubber...
I ran this car tonight in the street class for its first outing........So I already know the answer, but my guess was right on the money.....This is my old 512, but with cast iron super stock heads from back in the day....Everything on the car is old school.

Well mine was lighter with more cam but mine was 60 cubic inches smaller (stock crank) with 906 heads and it went 9.82 in the 1980’s so how about a 10.10

Wag......... 10.50’s
But...... I think John’s Duster from the 80’s looks great in that pic, and sounds like it was running real strong. Weiand TR on it?

Ya I went back and forth between a couple of different 4 barrel intakes and a 1050 dominator but the Weiand Tunnelram ran so nice I only had to touch the 750 holleys once or twice a year. 76 jets all Summer and 78 jets in the Fall air. I still have those 906 heads sitting on a shelf not far from those old school 750 lift roller cams.

We were there testing & tuning for the start of the anticipated "Street" class at Empire...and ran with the "Street" cars....A first for me. Even My Cuda, which is street legal, I run in the race car classes.....
Well, that old engine went a best of 9.70 in my Duster with Indy EZ1 heads and a car that weighed 2700 and a .680 cam.....We have been racing that damn engine since 2012...There are so many passes on it, its not even funny anymore.
So way less cam, 250lbs heavier, less heads, I figured a loss of 1second......Car went 10.72 last night at almost 126mph with mufflers and street tires! Car launched with a 1.50 60ft lifting the fronts up off the pavement...I never though the radials would hook, as I have never had a set that did....
Had a blast.....First run, I did a John Force burn out so bad, you couldn't see the new Challenger SRT in the other lane.....I know, your not supposed to do that, but the tires were old and I wanted some heat in them.
They were all in the lanes before hand talking BS with other street guys and that Challenger was a gorgeous car. I thought maybe its one of those that runs deep into the 11s or so, never seen it before and I was not sure what my car was going to do....When I treed him and left, he was so far back I was shocked...Would love to see the look on the guys face after the crusty Dart got to the finish like 3 seconds ahead of him....
Second run was against a Honda Acura with a bunch of Spanish speaking fellas talking $hit....And we out ran that little 16 second rev it to the moon time bomb...
Last run was against a fast Phord Mustang, and he got out on me and broke mid run and coasted to a stop.....Another 10.73 run but a little less 60ft with a 1.52....
I think we have a nice little street killer bracket car....

The car is a beast considering how daily driver friendly it is....I now know where to set the tire pressure and launch, so we will see if we can back it up next outing or improve upon the 10.72....Last year at the very last TNT of the season, I had a chance to run it with slicks, no exhaust, and 4.56 gears and the best it did was 10.91....So the 10.72 was kinda a shock,,,Not to mention we pulled the big gears and put an exhaust on it and drag radials....And now it pulls the front wheels, what a blast!
