…... I'm currently looking into going up to the 15x7 rallye. ….. The tires I'm looking at are BF Goodrich radial T/A and the sizes are as follows, the rear 275/60/15 and on the front 245/60/15. sounds perfect - Chrysler Corp. never put 70-series tires on a 15x7.0" wheel an any B or E-body - from the factory a '73 B-body with 15x7.0"s would've had G60-15s all around (245/60/15) here's a '72

A word of warning on larger size Radial TA’s so called raised white letters.
Ever since Michelin and Coker took over manufacturing and marketing of these iconic tires,,,, the larger sizes are no long raised white letters,,,,they are raised brown letters. The smaller sizes back then were not affected. I do know exactly the cause.
Michelin replaced those on my 71 Vette under cosmetic warranty 2 times. Before allowing them to do again when the third set turned brown,,,,less than 30 days, I reversed them and but the brown walls in.
There are several threads on this forum that covers this subject,,,with photos, in detail. This was a couple years ago,,,perhaps they have reformed their manufacturing processes.

Jeff not a road runner but these are 225/70/15 on 7" rims front and 275/60/15 on 8" rear.
Too bad you don't live closer I have a set of almost new rallye rims and tires bfg ta 225/70/15 and 275/60/15 nitto's you could try and see how they look and would probably sell them since I don't need 3 sets of wheels. Mike

Thank you for the info, LOVE the look of the Poly's but cant get past the "drive" of them....Also LOVE the 72 pictured Don't like the way the bias-plies drive? Here's an alternative........... BFG T/A's white letter in with "GOOD YEAR POLYGLAS" stenciled on them.

good way to keep the BFG letters from turning brown. however, how do you keep 'em black ? I would think you use the backside of the tire no? Ron

I have used 303 protectant for over 25 years on my tires. Have found nothing better to regain that low sheen satin like look. I also use on radiator hoses, interior vinyl, even some leathers, like in our 300 B, and many other places requiring detailing. There are now a number of decent non silicone based protectants,,,I have found nothing better, so why switch.
I should note on my earlier post,,,that almost all Michelin tires,,,even black ones will turn brown. So if you reverse your Radial TA’s the black walls too will eventually brown. These dopes began a number years ago added silicone(think Armour All and how it brown’s everything it touches) to their rubber compounds,,,,yes the have their reason, to zero benefit to their clients. Some other tire manufacturers do this too,,,,,I say avoid them if you can.
However a good dose of 303 every month or so will control this,,,unfortunately does nothing to turn Raised Brown Letters to white again.
