I have a 1970 Plymouth Superbird with a 440 Six Barrel engine. My question is on the distributor vacuum advance unit. Did the assembly line units have the inspector decals on them or just the over the counter replacements? I have attached a picture of one for sale over on EBAY. Any pictures out there of originals? Thanks! John

If your car was built before February 1970 it would have a Prestolite distributor. Built sometime after that it would have a distributor requiring the control vacuum that you have in the picture. I have a few originals and NOS ones, they all have the inspection decals on them. Early control vacuums have black bakelite rather than the "white" shown in your picture. .What he should have.
