There are four generations of purple shafts, that I know of.
The Isky and racer brown stuff was before my time....
The oldest have nothing but paint codes/dots and have to be measured.
Sometimes they have a blank number (Which I am pretty sure your 911525 is), and sometimes not.
These are the annoying ones most of us are familiar with.
The next newer ones have an actual grind number, but the number is nearly useless because it
was an internal number to the nice folks at
http://camshaftmachine.com/, and they're not going to talk to you so don't ask.
However, those numbers can can only be decoded with the secret decoder
ring (spreadsheet) which I am sure, somebody who used to work for Mopar still has a copy of, somewhere
These are also annoying, unless you know someone who can look it up.
The next newer ones have actual laser etched identifiable grind numbers, which typically (not always!) is off by one digit from the packaged
cam and lifter set. These grind numbers are called out on the more recent instruction sheets for purple shafts. However
there is a trick to these: The purple paint was deleted in exchange for the number.
You might say, these were 'purple in name only'.
The newest ones have the purple paint, AND the identifyable grind number, AND the instruction sheet to decode the number.
