Looking for advice on a cam swap in a Hemi.

The motor is an 06 SRT8 6.1 out of a Charger. It is stock except for TTI headers. The rest of the exhaust is 3" with dynomax mufflers.

It is in a 1968 Charger with a Tremec five speed transmission. The rear axle is 3.91.

This is my brothers car, he would like more power and for it to sound meaner.

I think it already sounds good as is.

This car gets driven on nice summer days will very rarely go to a drag strip and never sees cold weather.

I am not familiar with cam specs in new Hemis.

If this was a big block I would think about a 280 or 284 degree cam for it.

Any suggestions?

Comp 273 will do what he wants. It's got much more of the old musclecar sound and feel.

I’m running a 219/231 on a 112 in a stock block 6.1, its the biggest you would want in a stock block. It’s still tame as far as hemi cams go.

pm gremlinsteve on here, it’s his grind.
