I don't know about 'correct', but it looks very close to me. I used it on my 71 GTX that got OE Certified. But as mentioned, it is not a paint. It takes a day or two to dry and ends up kinda waxy on the surface and will not wear well. But if you want it to look correct, that is the price you pay.

Excellent. May give it a try. The Eastwood stuff was also s cosmoline type material that never really dried. Just trying to save buying a 5 gallon pail which by far looks the best! Thanks guys! Cosmoline never really dries. It is a coating not a paint. I shoot matte clear over it after it cures to keep it from being sticky.

I had bought the smaller quantity of Cosmoline to do my lower control arms. First I blasted them clean, and then used RPM on them, THEN the cosmoline, hoping that when the cosmoline came off, no rust would appear . . . and here it is about 5k miles later . . .

I almost think the stuff I got from Eastwood’s was a battery type product! I used it on many cars. I forgot thats what it was till you guys just mentioned that!
