Car: 69 Roadrunner: post car with pop-out rear windows.

I'm about to reinstall my pop-out window assemblies and I'm struggling with the fitment of the stainless trim piece that goes between
the window frame and the window assembly and it's relationship to the drip-rail end piece. I'm feel I'm doing something wrong.

1) The two trim pieces just don't seem to fit correctly together where they contact each other.
2) The final hole in the long stainless trim isn't used, and being so, doesn't fit flush against the top of the window frame (foam insulation fills the gap?)
3) Other photos I've found online look a bit different. Am I missing something? Am I putting the pieces on incorrectly, and just have the wrong idea all together?

In the picture, the trim pieces are just mocked up loosely, no foam insulation has been applied yet. Any advise is appreciated.

Till someone helps with you original question...

Looks like a nice trunk divider smile

Also, the pinch weld trim with the wing on it that goes around that back window, did you reuse your original? Reason I ask is some customers have asked me for that and looks like Trim Parts makes a $90 3 piece trim thats nothing like the original pinch weld piece.

Lastly, again people have asked me about some vertical interior trim piece thats at the front of of the pop out window. Have a picture of that you could share?

Hello,
I have installed these pieces before. It's a very difficult trim piece to install. How you have the trim piece in relation to where the drip rail steps up; you need to slide it back a little.
Match the curved part of the trim to the curved part of the body and it will be positioned correctly. Some of that flat piece will be between the body and the stainless piece, touching the body.
Just keep in mind, the back part of that moulding that curves has to be sitting on the curved part on the body. So, you might have a little space between the trim piece and the roof rail step.
What I do when I install the piece is to go in on a 45 degree angle at the same time push up hard on the bottom flat side of the trim and it should slip over and in.
What you do next is put the long roof rail trim up against the roof rail on the body, follow it forward and check where it meets the a-pillar side where the angled trim piece is installed .
Now you can see how the roof rail trim piece covers that rear trim and the downward positioned a-post trim.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you GMP440, I will continue to play with the pieces and use your advise. More than anything was wanting to be sure there wasn't anything obviously wrong.

Both rear pop-out windows are installed. Just wanted to revisit the thread and update. For some reason the passenger side (pictured) was giving me a lot of trouble. The drivers side's fitment was perfect, no issues.
