Got to checking piston to valve clearance on the motor and discovered i had way more lift at the valve than the cam card says. Have probe 1.6 rockers on there now. With the .440 lobe lift roller and 1.6 rockers should have .705 at the valve. It measures at .746 which means my rockers are really 1.7 ratio. Usually the ratio is a little short. Anybody seen the probes off this much? Kinda explains the broken valve springs i found over the winter freshenup.

I've checked a bunch of different brands of rockers and rarely found one that checked "nuts on" to the advertised ratio. And how you set them up (rocker geometry vs. the valve tip, pushrod geometry, pushrod length, etc.) will also have an effect on the delivered ratio.

FWIW, my Probes checked about .03 higher (e.g. 1.53 vs. 1.50) than advertised as set up on my engine.

Take the rocker off and check it at the pushrod first, to make sure that's what the issue is.

To be off that much I would check the lobe lift to
make sure it is what it should be

double checked the cam and the lobe lift is .440. i did it twice last night because i thought i added wrong.
