Good Morning Everyone,

Does anyone have a diagram of how the neutral starting switch and reverse lights are
run for a 1969 Superbee 383 w/ a 4 Speed manual transmission?

Thanks!!
Jim

i believe you only have a reverse light switch on the transmission. it completes the ground for the backup light circuit.
1970, i believe, was the first year for the clutch safety switch, wherin the clutch needed to be depressed [completing the ground circuit for the starter relay] before the starter would/could be engaged.

I think you mean the reverse light on the lower dash.
Sorry no diagrams.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses.

What goes to the starter solenoid? Can't get it to turn over, so I just assumed
it was missing? Is it bypassed somehow?

This is my first 4 speed, used to dealing with automatics.

Thanks,
Jim

The stick needs the starter relay to be the self grounding style(for stick cars) or a wire from the ground terminal to a ground if you have the automatic trans relay.

The '69 stickshift relay has one corner grounded instead of a spade terminal, '70-later used a clutch pedal safety switch.

FWIW, on the earlier cars, most auto parts stores only have the AT starter solenoid. In that case, fab a ground wire from the bottom left lug to one of the mounting screws, and it'll work.
I found a MT solenoid at VansAutoLLC.
Another thing you can do - I had an earlier thread on this - is use the AT solenoid with the ground wired to a hidden switch as a theft preventative.
