The drag-oriented, street-legal 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is now NHRA approved. The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 was recently given the green light to be modified for competition in NHRA Stock and Super Stock Sportsman class competition for the 2019 season.
The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is powered by the 392 HEMI® V-8 engine that delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. With a quarter-mile elapsed time (E.T.) of 11.70 seconds at 115 miles per hour (mph), the showroom-stock Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is the fastest naturally aspirated, street-legal muscle car available.
The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 can be modified for competition in NHRA according to Stock and Super Stock class rules. The vehicle will feature a class weight break of 8.72 and carry a minimum weight of 3,400 lbs. Contestants intending to compete at an NHRA event must meet any and all rules and regulations for the category they intend to enter.
A new “Angry Bee” interpretation of the legendary Dodge Super Bee logo marks the vehicle’s front fenders, instrument panel, headlamps, instrument gauge cluster startup splash screen and key fob. The street-to-strip muscle car is beginning to arrive in FCA US dealerships.
Owners of the new cars will receive a complimentary one-year membership in the NHRA and the NMCA for the 2019 season, courtesy of Dodge.

I would love to have one of these as a daily driver and weekend bracket toy. Leave it bone stock, enjoy the warranty, and race the wheels off of it. I have a company truck but if I had to buy my own daily driver I would have a hard time not selling my jeep and a kidney to buy one of these.

It might just have the Demon Half Shafts, but with 350 less horsepower I am sure it stands a better chance.

I saw this on FB, and IIRC it said it slotted into B/SA at 3400lbs......sounds awful light to me. The index for B/SA is 11.25 so at 11.70 bone stock it seems like a go.
It may be ugly, but it sure is slow.

Due to some complaints, the HP has already been upped from 390 to 413. On classracer.com they said it is now a natural A/SA car and can move to AA/SA or B/SA. How light do people think they can make one of those things? If they're not stripped like a Drag Pak, aren't these cars in the 4000 lb range? Are trans brakes legal in Stock? EDIT: 4127 lbs, and that's without the rear & passenger seats.

Brake is not legal in Stock. NHRA is figuring anyone serious will put a Pro Flite in it anyway.

EDIT: 4127 lbs, and that's without the rear & passenger seats. I don't know the specifics, but some weight is saved by removing all of the usual exhaust system, air bags, sound deadener, emissions junk, heat/A/C parts & ducting, unnecessary wiring, door crash bars, etc. Lighter brakes, lighter trans, race wheels, etc. save even more. But as some have suggested, start with original stripped Drag Pak and add only the necessary parts while converting the car to appear as a 2019. Not easy, cheap or quick no matter how you do it.
