The 727 in my Duster has just about given up the ghost. It has leaks I can't fix and I just don't feel comfortable driving the car. I know people are rushing to get ready to race but is there anyone I can order from or rebuild mine around NE Ohio? All I want is reliable, manual valve body, steel front drum. Car is a 3200lb Duster with a mild 440. 10:1, Edelbrock heads, MP.557 cam, 3.73 gears, 3200 stall. I drive the car a lot, and do some test and tune at the strip, but no real racing. I was going to rebuild it myself this winter but I just ran out of time. I don't need this thing tomorrow but I'd like to enjoy some of the summer. I have two BB 727's, One a 1970 six pack/Hemi unit and one from a 78 2wd Ramcharger. Not sure which one would be better if I rebuild. Any suggestions?

Its not hard to rebuild yourself.. get Carl Monroes trans book.. just measure things when you take it apart.. If you have a hoist the job goes pretty quick.. I had to make a couple of things when I did my 518. but you dont have to worry about that

How far are you from the Pittsburgh area. My buddy does them for the three state area and often drives to Ohio

How far are you from the Pittsburgh area. My buddy does them for the three state area and often drives to Ohio Depends what side of Pittsburgh. I'm 20 miles south of Youngstown and within 5 miles of the PA border.

john, does he have his shop out by the airport by chance ?  Al had his shop about 6 miles from Keystone drag strip. He sold it because he’s just a builder now and does them in Latrobe. Age is catching up to us.
