I’m switching over from a 9 1/4 rear to an 8 3/4 in my 74 Stepside. Can anyone tell me if the 9 1/4 backing plates and drums will work with the 8 3/4?

I may just find some backing plates and save the 9 1/4 to sell as a complete set.

As long as the 8 3/4 is not from an A body you will be fine. Did this many moons ago with a 77 royal Monaco. The drums from the 9 1/4 bolted up to the 8 3/4 without drilling. Matt

Matt Should bolt up, same BP. My only concern is the flange bolt pattern

8.25, 8.75, 9.25 and Dana have the same flanges and backing plates. 7.25 is different.
