i believe you just have to drill that 5th hole-----need the backing plate shoes hardware and matching drum-----the easy way to tell is measure the offset from the axle end to the axle flange---should be the same....
I’m switching over from a 9 1/4 rear to an 8 3/4 in my 74 Stepside. Can anyone tell me if the 9 1/4 backing plates and drums will work with the 8 3/4?
As long as the 8 3/4 is not from an A body you will be fine. Did this many moons ago with a 77 royal Monaco. The drums from the 9 1/4 bolted up to the 8 3/4 without drilling. Matt

Should bolt up, same BP. My only concern is the flange bolt pattern

For me the flange bolt pattern was the same. Just realized what I previously typed! LOL EVERYTHING BOLTED UP. Matt
