I'd like recommendations on main seal type and brand as well as pan gasket type and brand for a small block. I want to be sure I'm getting pieces that will provide the best opportunity to seal and will make for a quick and easy installation. This will be done not only on an assembled engine but one that is still in my pickup. Fortunately the pan is very accessible due to the pickup having a dropped axle.

Thanks,

- EM

There is no magic in making a motor seal up and not leak, the factory did it by the thousands for ever, correct work
Any good gaskets and seals should work fine up Cheap gaskets leak more than good gaskets do shruggy
As long as you install them correctly thumbsshruggy

#1 check pan rail straightness & end seal and side gasket fitment dry. some rear thin black seals are a bit too long to fit perfect in the main cap half moon groove & the half moon pan itself cutout in the front can be too shallow on some aftermarket pans forcing you to trim the end of the front black seal so with some compression it fits well & sometimes the side gaskets need to be sectioned so the holes in em line up dead on with the block holes & pan special attention to the (4) corner pieces that meet the ends of the black front/rear main seals, trim as needed. I hear good about the MP one piece gasket but ain't tried it (yet).
