Hi, I am going to put air tabs on my 2016 Lightning trailer, and they will need to be painted before installing. Does anyone know if these trailer manufactures use standard colors that are avalable in a spray can, and where I could find matching paint? Thanks, Joel

My paint store has a color analyzer so if you bring something to them the can figure out the color and then the match it and the can put it in a spray can

Try calling the company that made the trailer. The may have ready-made cans of paint or at the very least can tell you the color number and manufacturer.

Agreed, after buying a couple horse trailers in another life, the manufacturer in both cases provided the paint information. Surprisingly enough, they were both current (at that time) GM automotive colors IIRC.

That's a kick in the shorts. Is there a dealer near you who could run interference for you? I'd have to believe there is one somewhere in MN. They may be more "pliable".

those are some good ideas. I probably would have bought those silver ones if I had known about them. But I already bought white ones because I didn't know you could get pre-painted. I'll try calling the trailer dealer where I bought the trailer and see if he knows about a paint match. there's no small piece that's easy to take off and bring into the paint store for matching. I wonder if they have a portable matcher machine that they could bring out into the parking lot?

My little local parts store has a portable paint matcher, they can bring it out to the street, or to the body shop, etc. It's an Auto Value store.

Call them and find out. Technology has advanced tons over the years. A portable scanner should be available otherwise I have a great business idea.

No matter how exact of a paint match, you're still going to see them installed. If it were me I'd take into consideration the cost of paint and the time to match, prep and paint the pieces and probably just buy the silver ones and resell the white ones. twocents

My trailer looks to be similar color. It was a GM color. I saved this info:

It's a GM Pewter Metallic.

ENGGM4900 Dupli-Color® Scratch Fix 2in1®; Pewter Metallic;

GM Paint Codes 11-382E /386E /11-522;

or on Lightning's website here are their color names....do you have your buildsheet, or remember what color you picked...then we can google that color name?

when posting an e-bag link, you only need the info BEFORE the "?". in other words, just highlite before the ?, then copy-n-paste. that will take you right to the bag item.
hope this helps.
