I guess I let it sit too long (3 months),
Priming the carb, it will start up no problem.
Then stops.
So I figure something like a fuel pump.
Anybody want to give me an idea and maybe some direction on finding the culprit.
I would rather fix myself than take to shop(flatbed).
All stock carter 4bbl.
Thanks

I don't think that 3 months is really all that long. Maybe check fuel filter and pump operation first?

If you think it is a fuel problem. Unhook the hard line that goes into the carburetor. Then put a great big old t-shirt underneath it. Disconnect the coil of course so that you get no spark. And have someone turn it over and crank it and see if you are getting the fuel pump pushing the fuel up to your carburetor. If you do then your carburetor line is not the problem.

Good diagnostics but let's assume FLPlum has limited experience with this method.

We don't want sparks while we have fuel splashing onto a T shirt. So either jump 12 volts to the yellow wire on the starter relay or disconnect the coil or disconnect the ignition or ground the high tension lead to crank the engine.

If you absolutely can not find a suitable T shirt, run the fuel line into a container.

Check the tank vent. They can get crusty when sitting. The pump can't overcome the vacuum. Take the gas cap off and prime the carb and start it.

Floats can get stuck closed in the carb as well.

If it turns out to be the fuel pump then check the length of the rod while you have it apart. They can wear down over time especially it if is a replacement one. I would also check every piece of rubber on the fuel line as the new gas seems to eat the old rubber up.
