Hello i know true 15" x 7" trim rings are super hard to find and expensive if you do find them so who makes the most correct looking and fitting after market brushed rings that fit a 7" wide wheel.

The real answer is NO ONE. The only reproduction available is Wheel Vintiques which many people use but when compared aren't even close.

That huge outer lip is hideous!
25 years ago, I used to "cheat" with 14x7 Magnums and Ford brushed trim rings, but those went obsolete; wonder if there's a similar 15" Ford trim ring? They were closer to correct than the Chevy style.

Wheel Vintiques ones look hideous - I would never use them. WHY reproduce something like them when they are so far off?

(probably just "close" off the shelf ones made for multiple applications...)

Has anyone checked if there are 15" trim rings for GM or Ford older applications?

Wheel Vintiques must have changed to that ring. I bought some brushed from them years ago and they basically took the polished ring and brushed them lightly with steel wool or something. They didn`t look anything like those. They are ugly.

I have to concur. I bought a set of Wheel Vintiques 15x7 polished rings some time back, over 10 years ago. They don't have that excessive lip area at all. Main issue is the slightly tarnished or off color finish the have. But for a local show/ cruise night car they were A-OK.
I have a set of the Chrysler performance ones that were released to great anticipation than quickly were discontinued. I also have some original correct 15X7 ones needing resto. I have on my long list of things to do, is to find a good restorer and have 4 restored.
Along with decent trunk mats, good trim rings have always been on most everyone's most wanted list. Now we are finally getting the mats, so maybe there is hope someone will finally take on tooling rings!

They goofed & re-did the 15" x 6.5" rings instead of the 7" rings.

I don't think that is correct Barry, could you remind me what the depth is of the correct 15X7s? I have some original 15x7 rings and years back when I first got the Chrysler performance repros I put one side to side with an original to see what differences I could spot. People were complaining about the new ones and as I recall it was due to some issues like contours and accent lines not being spot on. Plus the pricing of somewhere around $75-$85 each which people thought excessive back then in 2006-7 or whenever it was they finally got released.
Never heard any talk of incorrect 15x6.5 ring depth until now? You got me curious so I dug out one of my old original rings and eyeballing my tape measure looked to be maybe 3-1/8" deep. Went out in my cold garage and measured a repro installed on my T/A and it looked to be around 3-1/8". Weren't the 15x6.5s 2-3/4" or maybe it was 2-7/8" deep?

I have some stored away, I'll try to dig them out later today.

I believe Barry is correct, bought some 15 X 7s from Chrysler way back in the late 70s early 80s. Ordered another set some time later expecting 15 X 7s and they came in as 15 X 6 1/2. I still have them unused. Since then I have had a friend work on restoring 15X7 trim rings, taking them apart and taking dents out and then working on the curb rash. Not an easy job. The rings end up looking polished and then you have to put the brushed finish on them to make they look like the 1971s not the 1970 polished rings. There is a member on moparts that restores trim rings. Seen his work in some pictures and they are nicely done. It is a big job to do this and some trim rings just can not be done that have extreme damage. Price of doing them is not cheap but as of now there is no alternative that matches up to how these rings came from the factory. The 6 1/2 now rings I have will go on my Challenger one day with 15x61/2 rims on the front and a widened 6 1/2 to 12 inches wide on the back.

The 15x6.5 in your pictures does look to be around 2-3/4" deep, as I'd recalled.
The Mopar Performance repro 15x7 I measured on my car earlier today was a bit over 3" deep like the originals.

The Mopar performance 15X7 trim rings issued in 2006-07 have the correct depth. I checked them with my original assembly line 15X7 rings.

I think you guys are mixing two stories.

Chrysler superseded the 15x7 trim ring with the 15x6 1/2. If you ordered the 15x7 part number and it came in a bag you got a 15x7 trim ring, if it came in a box you got a 15x6 1/2

When the Mopar Performance rings came out my brother was smart and bought a boat load of them.

As for getting rings restored I have 8 out with a guy now - he has had them for 14 months frown

Chris has it pretty much right on.
True first run deep 3461043 and 3461022 were replaced in the mid 70's, superceded to the 6.5 ring using the same part numbers and those were carried into the late 80's.
A true 15x7 ring carried this top label shown, no date and were bagged loose as stated if you ordered and received one from Chrysler.
If you ordered 4 as I did, they came bagged loose separated by brown wax paper.
The later 15x6.5 ring carried this different label with date and came boxed or sealed paper and plastic.
Could just be a co-incidence but any 6.5 brushed 022 ones that I got came in the box and 6.5 chrome 043's in the sealed paper/plastic.
I believe the 6.5 022's were discontinued before the 043's in 6.5's
Last picture is of the short lived 15x7 reproduction ring Hakim was involved with through Mopar performance in around 2006 hence the P on the label.

This looks pretty close too - 15" x 3" deep. It'll clip onto the Mopar wheels!
