Thinking of convertng my 68 over to a BB. Well I have pieces to bolt together a 511" Indy BB as well as a trans already to go and converter etc. I am now thinking of putting all this in my 68 shortbed Sweptline that now has a 318 in it.
So time for a few questions. Are there headers available for this application off the shelf? Does anyone have any pictures of a BB in a sweptlinbe. More specifically motor mount area. No real worries as I am sure we will have to do some fab work but that is not a big deal. Just thinking these parts that have been taking up space might loog good in there.

Look at your transmission crossmember. My '64Dog has a complicated crossmember that gets in the way of headers. My '71 donor truck has a simple one that headers don't run into. I have a set of headers for bigblock Mopar into pickup, they are not expensive. I seem to remember some of them back in the day being for automatic only. R.

Well I have no issue making a crossmember. Not that complicated of a job so not worried about that part. Part numbers for header woudl be a plus I have mid sump and rear suim pans here as well. Would love a pic of the motor mounts for a BB as I think we have a set here, at least that is what I was told they were.

Well mine looks a bit different currently as well. We were going to go R5P7 power with it but the deal fell through and I have all this BB stuff laying around. Was just curious what the sotck mount set up looked like. Not like we cannot fab up whatever we need. For now it appears 511" BB Indy-1 heads and a TF for now This stuff was going to go into my 64 Savoy wagon which I will now be selling due to a new addition to the family

Al, 1st time I read your BB Sweptline post, so here's a pic of my 68 D100 (orig matching # 383 2bbl is in storage), with a 70 383 Magnum we just rebuilt. I got ceramic coated Hookers from Summit & they weren't even close to fitting, so Summit gave me nice Headman shorty ceramic headers. They're only 1 3/4" so probably not best for a stroker. I broke in the motor with the headers on, so that dulled the ceramic coating a little. Thick flanges & quality really nice for Headmans. We did have to modify the motor mounts, but that's no problem for you.

This is what I did for motor mounts to mount my 440.
No headers, they interfered with the steering shaft to rack and pinion.

Mike Very nice job Mike & engine bay looks awesome. You modified your mounts almost like we did on the D100. Also hope my Hemi Orange W100's engine bay looks as nice as yours! Only headers I could use on it's 383 were cheap Flowtechs that we had to "dimple" quite a bit.
