I've got a Rollmaster T/C set, CompCams roller and the Indy cover. Which button won't tear up the cover? Or would I be better off using a stock steel cover? Sorry for the dumb question, but I've never had a roller cam before so I never had to deal with this, lol.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

The Comp one should work okay after you machine it to fit. I've never seen one yet where it didn't need to be cut down before fitting.

I used the comp with the needle bearing also and had to take off about .012.

With so many different timing sets available today it can be trouble--the center hole where the button goes is a different size on every brand it seems--not really but it is where the first hurdle is THEN the next is end play--you can get lots of opinions on how much end play is needed --after you decide how much that is..lets say .010 then you have to mock it all up , bolt the cover tight with a gasket and measure the end play- ( best way is without cam plug in the back--set a dial indicator on the end of the cam and just move cam back and forth and measure )-trim button length sometimes--other times you have to use a thin washer or the like BEHIND the button to take up play. It is always a time consuming adventure but well worth it --with proper end play the timing set will not wear the block and will not move forward so much that it makes the timing jump around--that is why with a roller cam an aftermarket timing cover that is STIFF and does not flex is a plus--the cams when running can exert enough pressure on a stock cover to push it out until it hits the back of the waterpump housing and that can be a ways!!!Old days folks JB welded washers, pieces of wood, you name it in between the cover and WP housing--Good luck!
