That is a '73-'74 snubber.

The '70-'72 version is shaped the same, but it has a smaller, crimped-on bumper.

I seem to remember the 1972,73 340 and later Hi Po A body having the 8 1/4 stock, even the 4 speed cars shruggy Not the 8 3/4 tsk scope

Pretty sure 73 was the first year for the 8 1/4 in the A body 340 cars. My 73 340 duster had a 8 1/4.

Yep, no 8-3/4 in A-Body's after 1972.

The pinion snubber pictured in this thread was installed on '73-'74 B,C and E body 8.75" rears.
