The intake is on and I just want to prime the system. I know to turn the engine a little at a time and stuff.

I just want some suggestions on how to get it outta there. Thanks!!

Stick a screwdriver in the slot and turn the gear. It should back out enough to grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and lift it out.

the gear seems to be too big to fit out with the needles nose holding onto it. thought about putting something sticky on the top and pulling it out like that...maybe time to go buy a magnet??

Thanks Stumpy.....

I have always backed them off with a screwdriver and pulled them up with a magnet.

I've used a pair of long-reach needle nose pliers but it takes a little effort to see in there; I don't have a magnet strong enough to just pull the thing out, but I'll try to find one, as that's a good idea.

I've used a piece of thin wire before, about 2' long, doubled it over to make a loop, draped that over the gear, twisted a few times and lifted it out.

I have a pair of expanding ring pliers that work great.

I thought about trying to "lasso" it out of there as well.

Tow large flat blade screw drivers in the slot and squeeze the handles together, this wedges the blades in and you can lift it right out.
