Like this thing a lot. 93 octane.

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/mopar-mo...-show-mtsema18/

I wonder how much radiator it needs.

Falls into the category of "you can do anything given enough time and money". So sure it will fit if you have the shop and the crew to make it happen.

I’m thinking a Hemi scoop will cover all that stuff on top.

Is it a drop in? No. Probably will need a custom rack and pinion front suspension, or at a minimum a coilover setup to get rid of the torsion bars for good exhaust routing. It will also require a well built trans and hi $$$ converter, and aftermarket input and output shafts may be needed to handle the brutal torque. I did a home built coilover/rack and pinion conversion, and steering shaft winds up closer to the center of the chassis, requiring the use of double joints for the hi angle change, or at least that is the way i went. Moving the battery to the trunk might be the best way to go to make a lot of room for an air cleaner system, exiting into the area in front of the drivers front wheel. This motor sports a blower that wieghs well over 100 lbs, so take that into consideration in your plans.

A Hellcrate is around $20k. I thought the number I heard for the Helliphant was $29k.

I thought price of the Hellephant was already released, I recall it being 20K IIRC.

The Hellcat crate goes for like 13k from MMX
http://www.modernmusclextreme.com/p-759-cash-only-hellcat-crate-engine-by-mopar-62l-hemi.aspx

You then need Harness/ECU which goes for about $2000

heat exchangers and pump (could probably buy aftermarket for $1000 or used factory for $500)

Conversion mounts- $300?

Accessories (which should be pretty cheap if you're just running an alternator like many of us)

Headers

I'm sure lots of other odds and ends depending on what you do for the transmission, cooling system etc...

Hell of a deal (no pun intended) for either one given the HP they are making.

I wish I went Hellcat crate with my Challenger. I've probably spent 10k on the current setup and then all the days I have spent where I could have been working O/T trying to get this mess of a setup right. All the little (and big) issues of trying to make 60's technology produce over twice the power it was ever designed to. When all is said and done, the thing still won't make what a STOCK hellcat crate would make. My friends in hellcat challengers are making over 700 to the wheels with basic bolt ons and they daily drive the cars. Putting it into an early Mopar chassis that doesn't weigh as much as an Abrams tank to me makes the perfect car.

OF course the cost of the swap gets up there pretty quick, but still, even if you figured 20k for the complete swap, considering that you're getting a fuel injected, daily drivable engine that will probably last you 100K miles and make 700RWHP with headers/intake/tune and maybe a pulley swap I'd rather go that route than any LA or RB engine.

Wish I did lol

Hats off to Ma Mopar for producing the Helliphant. Now all they need is a trans that can stand up to it? That new 10 speed auto that ford and GM share is a killer trans. Blown 5.0 Mustang Gts are putting over 800 hp to the wheels without mods to it.

Heres what is involved putting a Hellcrate or Hellephant in a car. Would be awesome but man it wont be like dropping a BB into a SB car.

PSO headed 632 from MM. Cracked cylinder, loose valve seats, low oil pressure, low cylinder pressure.
..... Now its a door stop....

It was another forum , but I read some whining over the price and the number being bandied about was 28k.
I don't normally reply in that forum , but was compelled to say that 1000 pump gas horsepower for 28 thousand was an absolute steal.
A pump gas motor that you can idle about town with the a.c. on like a proper gentleman , and get anywhere near reliable 1000 h.p. isn't cheap no matter how you go about it.
How much does a 1000 h.p. grenade cost ?
I suppose with used or marginal parts , you could do it for 10k.
But a turn key , drive downtown to scare the citizens and stop for ice cream 1000 h.p. won't be had for much less than 25k if you do it right in my opinion.

Anybody here seen a part number for the motor or the install kit? if so I can look them up but Mopar has not seen fit to let us in on the party.

So much of what they claim you need on that website you shouldn't on your typical street rod.

For one, many of don't care about AC or power steering. I'd rather just have an alternator and nothing else....keep it simple and clean.

If you use aftermarket gauges, which most of us do anyway, you won't need to do anything with cluster. If you use a 727 then you won't need anything to get the speedo up and working. Possibly just a flex plate adapter to get it all together?

Air cleaner assembly? just build your own. It's just a cold air intake.

Key fobs, radio controls, steering wheel controls? No thanks

I'd rather just install the motor with a stand alone harness, use a manual valve body trans and keep it simple/cheap/effective.

I wanted to do a little more research on the fuel system, but from what I've heard it wouldn't be hard to just use a typical return style fuel system with a good electric pump.

Many of us run oil coolers anyway, so just tie that in.

The biggest additional cost would come from the intercooler system and the stand alone harness. The stand alone harness makes the whole swap a whole lot easier though, and I'm sure you can get away with keeping the heat exchanger system cheap and simple. I'm using a single $500 AFCO HX with a $200 Bosch coolant pump for my 96 Impala with an LSA engine out of a CTSV and 650rwhp. There are a million cheap options for the coolant reservoirs including take offs from factory cars. Or you could probably source all the factory HX parts including the variable rate pump from a totaled hellcat.

I mean, like any late model swap the odds and ends add up for sure. I just don't see it as being anything crazy. It's not a direct injection engine or anything crazy like that. It's not much unlike doing an LSA swap in a 60's Chevy and there are only about a million of those floating around.

If you give 20k for a hellcrate that is on you, much lower many places.
I can’t copy and paste a picture here but I screen shot a post where they claim it will be 19k and another 2k for the wiring.

who is that guy?

Hell of a deal right here if I had the cash right now....And just a little tid bit on the computer....Talk to Fast Man EFI Rich! He has the best deal out there. All I need is an alternator. None of that other stuff.

Personally, I keep thinking of dumping the big Hemi and going to one of these. I would probably never get my money back out of it though...But if someones interested, let me know.

And best price I have seen otherwise

IMHO the Hellcrate is a good deal, 707 hp and drive it anywhere.

What would it cost to kick the hp of a used hellcat motor up a bunch ? If you don't care about the helliphant name,,,,,,,,
