What would the correct date code for voltage regulator for a 1970 Cuda with a build date of 5/70. I found one with a date of 4/70, but the description indicates its for a 1971

The general rule of thumb, and take this very loosely, is two months before your SPD.

Now since there was no First In First Out at the time a 4/70 date could be OK

if it is "470" that's 47th week of 1970 (Nov. '70) which would be during the '71 model year

Thanks! I realized last night 470 is not 4/70, but as you said its 47th week of 1970. I will look for one dated prior to 210?

I have three NOS regulators with the proper bump on them and they all three over charge. If you have a lead acid battery, no problem, but not with a repo gel battery. Just saying, be careful with 40+ year old regulators. I got a new regulator and made my own bump and had ECS stamp it with a date code.

I have a functioning regulator, but it's aftermarket. I'm wanting to get a correct looking regulator. I also want to get a new AGM battery

Then you have to make one like I did. You need a good picture of an assembly line reg to make yours look right.
